As I reflect on 2020, I can’t help but to appreciate how coffee has bonded us together in such a pivotal year. In a year of pandemic woes, social distancing and beyond, it’s an honor that this year we’ve still been able to connect over coffee despite it all.
Although 2020 has been a year that has been filled with highs and lows, because you decided to show up for us, we were able to brew up some amazing things for Chicago French Press that wouldn’t have been able to happen without you.
Together, we’ve accomplished these milestones:
- Chicago French Press forged a community consisting of coffee supporters from all across the nation who purchased CFP online from all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
- We opened our first standalone coffee pop-up shop in Chicago, IL at the Roosevelt Collection Shops in September, pouring over 10,000 cups in less than 3 months.
- We entered our first national chain of retail stores, TJMaxx & Marshalls, launching in 1,600+ locations across the U.S.

Throughout the year, we continued to support charitable initiatives such as the Black Lives Matter Movement, Arts Education, Human Trafficking, Homelessness and Chicago’s under-resourced families and children, giving 5% of our proceeds to 501c3 national and local organizations including the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, The Simple Good, ChiGivesBack, #TheTakeBack, Salt & Light Coalition and Yo Soy Ella.
All of these things are reminders of how much stronger we are when we come together. No matter where you are on New Years Eve or what resolutions you’ve set for yourself in 2021, I hope you can find pride and comfort in the meaning that you created in 2020.
