Caramel Apple Donut Recipe

This recipe will show you how to make simple caramel apple donuts at home using Chicago French Press' seasonal flavored Caramel Apple coffee.

What You'll Need


For Donut

1/2 Granny Smith Apple

1/2 Fuji or Honey Crisp Apple

¼ Cup of Caramel Apple Chicago French Press Coffee

2 Tbsp of Apple Pie Seasoning

(Make your own seasoning 4 Tsp of Cinnamon, 1 Tsp All Spice, 1 Tsp of Nutmeg)

2 Cups of Flour

1 Tsp of Baking Soda

1 Tsp of Baking Powder 

1 Tbsp of Cinnamon

2 Tbsp of Butter

2 Cups of Sugar

¾ Cup of Milk

1 Egg


For Topping:

½ Granny Smith Apple

½ Fuji or Honey Crisp Apple

2 Tbsp of Caramel Apple Chicago French Press Coffee

2 Tbsp of Butter

1 Tbsp of Cinnamon

1 Tsp of All Spice 

1 Tsp of Nutmeg

 ¼ Cup of Caramel Melts


How to Make Carmel Apple Donuts

Step 1: Brew Chicago French Press Caramel Apple Coffee. This is your secret ingredient. Coffee makes your donuts extreme moist. 

Also, Chicago French Press Caramel Apple Coffee will add a hint of sweetness to your donuts.

Step 2: In another bowl add your flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and pie seasoning together in a bowl. Whisk together until combined.

Step 3: Add sugar, egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

Step 4: Grate ½ of each apple. Make sure to remove skin, and add to apples to your wet mixture. Gently mix apples in your mixture. Once mixed, add in your Chicago French Press Caramel Apple Coffee. Gently stir in your coffee.

Step 5:  Add your dry mixture into your wet mixture. Mix together until ingredients combine.

Step 6: Pour mixture into a Ziplock bag or cake batter bag and pipe mixture into donut pan. Make sure to spray pan with Pam or Bakers Joy.

Step 7: Bake for 11 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

How to Make Topping

Step 1: In a sauce pan, add butter and melt.

Step 2: Cube ½ of each apple and add to sauce pan. 

Step 3: Add apple pie seasoning, or your home-made mixture. Also, add in 2 Tbsp of Chicago French Press Caramel Apple Coffee.

Step 4: Add in ¼ Cup of caramel melts and stir until sauce is thicken
